AGP Supports EPA Biofuels Announcement

Ag Processing Inc a cooperative (AGP) calls the Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) proposed agreement promoting biofuels under the Renewable Fuel Standard (RFS) positive news for the industry.

“Today’s EPA announcement on promoting biofuels is a good first step in support of the U.S. biofuels industry,” said Cal Meyer, AGP’s Chief Operating Officer and Group Vice President. “The current market environment has been negatively impacted due to uncertainty in policy. The Administration’s commitment to strengthen U.S. based biofuels directly supports farm prices and rural jobs in America.”

AGP is a leading agribusiness with primary operations as a major U.S. soybean processor/refiner producing and marketing soybean meal, refined soybean oil, and biodiesel. AGP businesses also include agricultural product trading in domestic and international markets and numerous U.S. grain elevator operations. AGP is owned by local and regional cooperatives representing farmer-producers across the United States. Corporate headquarters are located in Omaha, Nebraska.
